An 8-year-old girl who died following a hit-and-run in Cape Coral this morning has been identified. Police said Layla Aiken was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Northeast 3rd Avenue and Northeast 19th by a driver who then took off from the scene. A red pickup truck may have been seen leaving the intersection at the same time as the collision. An investigation is ongoing.
