A domestic disturbance led to a stabbing, then a subsequent arrest in North Port late Sunday night. Police were called to a home on San Jacinto Avenue and found a woman that had been stabbed inside the home. Her identity was not released- she was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to police, that woman had a restraining order against the suspect, 63-year old Cornelius Hicks. A Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office K9 helped track down Hicks and get him in custody. He’s now charged with attempted murder.
