A 17-year-old student who caused multiple schools to be on lockdown in Sarasota County Thursday has been arrested on unspecified gun charges. The student, Anthony Duncan, was headed to Riverview High School when he showed the gun to several students on a bus. Duncan was found later at a bus transfer station in downtown Sarasota. Along with Riverview High School, Suncoast Polytechnical High School, Suncoast Technical College, Suncoast School for Innovative Studies, Phillippi Shores Elementary School and Wilkinson Elementary School were placed on “modified” lockdown until Duncan was located.
