Sarasota County Red Tide update for July 23, 2021
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sarasota County has confirmed that16 beaches have posted red tide notifications.
Red tides form miles offshore, sometimes they cause no impact to humans. However, when red tides travel inshore on wind and water currents, they can cause respiratory irritation.
There are no red tide cleanup operations scheduled, but staff continues to monitor and evaluate each beach daily for the effects of red tide.
