Double Murder In North Port

Two individuals in a North Port home on Mallicoat Road were killed late Thursday. The suspect, Dima Tower, 21, led police on a chase on Interstate 75 before crashing near Venice. Tower was captured at a gas station on Laurel Road early Friday morning. The homicides occurred before midnight, and Tower fled in a vehicle when officers arrived. The vehicle was stopped on Interstate 75, and Tower escaped on foot. Law enforcement agencies conducted a manhunt throughout the night. Tower was eventually found near a gas station on Laurel Road and taken into custody. The suspect and victims knew each other, according to North Port police.
