Englewood FL – 15 sea turtle nests were damaged at Stump Pass Beach State Park this weekend.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported someone attempted to destroy several sea turtle nests by removing barriers and disturbing the sand. Fortunately, sea patrol volunteers remedied the situation by the time the officials arrived. Officers are actively investigating this incident and encourage anyone with information to call the FWC’s Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922 to report it. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
