The Gulf Coast Community Foundation has given a $100,000 matching grant to Venice Area Beautification to create a “Urban Forest” along the Intracoastal Waterway in Venice.
The two-mile long greenway will provide for a habitat for butterflies, birds and wildlife.
The funds will be matched dollar for dollar in order to continue to expand the project to reforest the old CSX railway corridor.
