2 serious accidents in Port Charlotte over the weekend take the life of one woman and send nine others to the hospital.

Police say the first crash was late Saturday night when a car driven by Taylor Jewitt of Punta Gorda made a left turn from Peachland Boulevard to Loveland Boulevard in front of an SUV resulting in that vehicle hitting Jewitt’s car.

She was not wearing a seatbelt according to investigators and died at the scene.

The other crash was less than an hour later at the intesection of US 41 and Easy Street when a car driven by Kelsi Lanier rear ended two other cars at a red light.

Lanier along with her three passengers and 5 people in the other two cars were hospitalized
