Exciting changes are on the way for the Sunseeker Resort Florida Gulf Coast, now operating under the Curio by Hilton brand. With new leadership under Vice President and Managing Director Vince Parrotta, the resort is set to transform into a local hotspot, expanding both its amenities and its connection to the community. Sold last fall for a whopping $200 million, this waterfront property is aiming to cater to both tourists and locals with a fresh approach.
One of the highlights of this revamped vision is plans for a massive new convention center, adding 100,000 square feet to the already impressive 60,000 square feet of meeting space. This move seeks to keep occupancy rates around the 60-65% mark — significantly up from December’s 52%. Parrotta is enthusiastic, stating, “When you look at the ratio between meeting space and rooms, we need more meeting space.”
In addition to new spaces for gatherings, the resort is incorporating feedback from the community by providing free parking for guests dining or attending events. To spice things up, they’re also kicking off weekly events that promise fun, including trivia nights and live music. And what’s that? Rumblings about a water park? Parrotta suggests it’s a possibility to attract more families, aiming for splashes of excitement in a place where beach access isn’t a stone’s throw away.
With revamped dining options on the horizon, including a new Italian chop house and a reimagined sports bar, the Sunseeker is positioning itself to be a true gem on the Gulf Coast. As it embraces both locals and tourists, one thing is clear: this resort is ready to shine bright, and it looks like the future is bright as well!
