Charlotte County is making some serious changes to its watering regulations, and it’s all about battling the ongoing drought gripping the region. Starting April 3 through July 1, residents will have to shrink their watering windows down to just four hours a day. That’s right, your lavish lawn might now feel like it’s on a strict water diet!
This decision comes in the wake of a Modified Phase III “Extreme” Water Shortage declared by the Southwest Florida Water Management District for parts of the county. Watering days will be assigned according to the last digit of your street address, making it essential to keep track. So if your address ends in a 0 or 1, Mondays are your day! And if you thought Fridays were for fun, well, they’re now for those ending in 8 or 9—talk about a twist in the weekend plans!
With water conservation becoming a top priority, let’s hope residents can still keep their lawns looking lush without overindulgence. After all, the grass is always greener—and now it’s got to be a bit dryer, too!
