Venice Police Department Hosts “Go Gold” Blood Drive Friday
The OneBlood Big Red Bus will be at the Venice Police Department, 1575 E. Venice Ave., on Friday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a special “Go Gold” blood drive in support of pediatric cancer research.
For every successful donation, OneBlood will contribute $10 to the Benjamin Gilkey Fund for Innovative Pediatric Cancer Research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The fund helps create new treatment options for children facing the highest risks.
OneBlood officials are encouraging city employees and the public to donate the “gift of life” to ensure blood remains available for patients in need. Donors must be at least 56 days past their last whole blood donation and present a valid ID.
All participants will receive a $20 eGift Card, a Go Gold Day T-shirt, a wellness checkup—including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening—and a snack.
Appointments are encouraged but not required. To schedule a donation, visit OneBlood’s appointment link
