The Blue Angels Return for the Florida International Air Show in Punta Gorda
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – The skies over Southwest Florida will roar to life November 1–2 as the Florida International Air Show makes its return to Punta Gorda Airport after a one-year hiatus. Headlining the two-day event are two elite jet teams: the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demo Team.
This year marks the Blue Angels’ first Punta Gorda appearance since 2012. The team of 140 Sailors and Marines is celebrated worldwide for precision formation flying and representing the excellence of American naval aviation. The F-16 Viper Demo Team will highlight the power and versatility of the Fighting Falcon, one of the Air Force’s premier multi-role fighter jets.
Additional performers include aerobatic champion Aaron Deliu, Warbird Thunder’s World War II-era SNJ Texan “Ol Growler,” Doug Litton in his Extra 300-S, and the veteran-operated Chuters Jump Team with a patriotic parachute display.
New to this year’s show are two interactive attractions: the Innovators STEM Pavilion, featuring hands-on technology and aviation displays, and the Family Aviation Experience, designed to inspire future aviators.
“We’re honored to welcome back fans for one of our most exciting shows yet,” said Denise Dull, president of the Florida International Air Show, which was recently recognized on USA Today’s “10Best Air Shows” list.
Tickets are available online only at floridaairshow.com, with discounts for veterans and active military. Prices increase at the gate.
The Florida International Air Show, staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has donated more than $3 million to Southwest Florida charities over its 43-year history.
