SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources is launching a new and improved catalog system, which will provide an upgraded experience.
This upgraded platform will enhance the user experience, making it easier and more enjoyable to discover the library’s vast collection of books, audiobooks, DVDs and more across formats.
In preparation for this system switch-over, all Sarasota County Libraries, including the History Center, will be closed on Wednesday, May 7.
The new library catalog will feature:
Unified Title Display: See all available formats of a title, including print, digital and audio, conveniently listed in one place.
- Series Information: Easily discover if a book is part of a series and see the complete reading order, including cover art.
- Personalized Recommendations: Explore the “You May Also Like” section to find similar authors, titles and series that match your interests.
- Enhanced Information for Children’s Books: Parents and young readers can view details such as Lexile measures, Accelerated Reader (AR) scores and recommended age and grade levels.
“We are excited to offer this dynamic new catalog experience to our community,” said Dr. Renée Di Pilato, Director of Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources. “Our goal is to make it easier than ever for our patrons to find what they love, explore new interests, and enjoy all the resources our libraries have to offer. This upgrade is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance accessibility, discovery and lifelong learning.”
Patrons can look forward to a seamless transition and enjoy these features from the comfort of their homes or during their visits to any of the 10 community library branches, the History Center and the Pop-Up Library.
