Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce Urges Community to Help Fill “Shoes for Kids” Donation Box
PUNTA GORDA, FL — July 9, 2025 — With the new school year just around the corner, the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce is rallying the community to support local children in need through the Shoes for Kids program — but the response so far has been underwhelming.
The Chamber’s donation box currently holds only two pairs of new shoes, and organizers say there’s a long way to go.
“We’re asking our members, local businesses, and residents to help us fill this box,” said a Chamber spokesperson. “Every new pair of shoes donated goes directly to a school-aged child in need right here in our community.”
The Chamber is collecting brand-new shoes for children of all sizes, which can be dropped off:
