Today marks the grand opening of Costco’s newest location in North Port. The new store is situated within the Wellen Park area of south Sarasota. Many eager customers lined up in anticipation of the store opening.
The Wellen Park Costco boasts a range of amenities including a pharmacy, hearing aid center, optical shop, food court, tire center, and gas station.
This store signifies Costco’s second venture into Sarasota County, following the inaugural location near the Sarasota Square Mall in 2012. Another Costco in Bradenton, positioned just east of the Interstate 75 State Road 64 exit, commenced operations in 2019.
Nestled at the intersection of US 41 and Mezzo Drive within the vibrant Wellen Park community, this new establishment serves as a cornerstone in a master-planned neighborhood that currently houses over 9,500 residents, with plans for expansion to accommodate 22,500 homes and a population exceeding 50,000 at full capacity.
