DeSantis Mobilizes Florida State Guard in Preparation for Tuesday’s Severe Weather

Governor Ron DeSantis has taken proactive measures in response to an impending severe weather threat in Florida. The Florida State Guard has been activated, and the emergency management division is actively preparing for the potential impact.  That the severity of the storm is anticipated to be Level 3 out of 5 in the Panhandle, while Southwest Florida may experience a Level 1-2 impact locally. The expected conditions include higher tides, gusts exceeding 40 mph, and the possibility of tornadoes. Although there is a chance of intense weather conditions in Southwest Florida, the Panhandle is likely to face harsher conditions. The Florida Division of Emergency Management (@FLSERT) is diligently monitoring the situation, emphasizing the potential for strong winds and isolated tornadoes in the Panhandle and Central Florida from tonight through Tuesday. Residents are urged to prepare for possible impacts and to heed warnings from officials. Additionally, the Florida State Guard (@FLStateGuard) has been activated to be ready for any potential impacts.
