Construction began this week on a roundabout at a busy Sarasota County intersection.
The intersection at Honore Avenue and Ashton Road will no longer have a 4-way stop when construction is completed.
County officials say the roundabout will improve traffic flow “to accommodate future growth and provide a more pedestrian-friendly intersection for school children and other pedestrians.”
The nearly year-long project also includes improvements to nearby utilities, drainage, lighting, curbs, and sidewalks.
