Tomorrow, the Venice Planning Commission will present the site and development plan for the new Venice Public Safety Complex to the public for the first time.

The more than 31,000-square foot building will also serve as an area hurricane shelter and will be hardened to survive a Category 5 storm.

The nearly $16m price tag of the building will be paid for using a public safety bond approved by voters in 2016. Site work and groundbreaking could get underway as soon as next month.
