The Democratic candidate for the 17th District Congressional seat has died.
Her husband posted about April Freeman’s passing on Facebook. Her cause of death was not released. Freeman, a film and television producer who lives near Fort Myers, won the Democratic congressional primary and was running for a spot in the race for the 17th District Congressional seat being vacated by Tom Rooney. Freeman ran for the seat against Rooney two years ago, but lost.
