The Sarasota County Commission voted unanimously this week to give the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office the funds it needs to purchase a second helicopter at a price tag of around $3.4 million.
The money will come from impact fees- Sheriff Tom Knight told ABC-7 they hope to have the ‘copter purchased by the end of the summer.
