State Rep. Julio Gonzalez has an early fundraising lead over state Sen. Greg Steube in the GOP primary for Florida’s District 17 congressional seat.
Gonzalez raised more than $83,000 compared to Steube’s $48,500 through the first three month of the year.
The Herald-Tribune reports most of Gonzalez’ donations came from his fellow medical professionals. Steube’s biggest donors include the Mosaic Company’s political action committee, the United States Sugar Corporation and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
