One of the two West Michigan police chiefs vying to be the next Punta Gorda police chief has eliminated himself from the race. Kalamazoo, MI Jeff Hadley has withdrawn from consideration. No specific reason was announced for why he pulled himself out of the race- Hadley had been named as one of the ten finalists for the job. Another current chief from Michigan remains on Punta Gorda’s short list- Grand Rapids chief David Rahinsky, who said he applied to be closer to family in Florida.
