Dogs waiting for their new home at the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services department have some nicer, fancier digs. The facility on Bee Ridge Road added a bone-shaped pool for the dogs. Gone is the hot concrete and dying grass…the dogs’ yard area now has turf as well as new fencing, canopies, lighting, and fans. Animal Services also added water stations where the dogs can both drink and be hosed off. Those renovations came at a price tag of just over $275,000.
