A caretaker for an elderly World War II veteran has been found guilty of attempted second degree murder and aggravated abuse of the elderly. Police say 45-year old Elena Erickson of North Port tried to kill the man by beating him with his own oxygen tank. According to police, Erickson was mad at the man for not offering her a blank check for her services. Erickson allegedly hit 91-year old Michael Tristano in the head several times and left him lying on his dining room floor back in May of 2016.
