The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for allegedly beating a woman unconscious. A woman came into Venice Regional Hospital suffering from a severe head injury. Detectives learned she was taken there after 26-year old Joshua Curtis called 911 to say the woman had passed out from a medical condition. He later confessed to punching her twice, then smothering her with a pillow until she blacked out. He is now charged with Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm. He is being held in the Sarasota County Jail without bond.
