The Punta Gorda Airport announced Allegiant Airlines will offer nonstop service from Providence, Rhode Island starting Sept. 28. The Providence flight is just the second year-round destination from Punta Gorda into New England, joining Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Lukas Johnson, Allegiant senior vice president of commercial, said the airline looks forward to “continuing to provide economic growth in Punta Gorda.” The flight will operate twice weekly starting in the fall. The flight now makes 34 non-stop destinations from Punta Gorda on Allegiant.
