Police in Punta Gorda are asking for the public’s help in identifying and tracking down an unidentified suspect who held up a convenience store early Wednesday morning. According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, just after midnight, a man entered the Circle K located on Tamiami Trail at Aqui Esta Drive, implying that he was armed with a gun and demanding that the clerk hand over all the money in the register. After obtaining the cash, the suspect ordered the clerk to the men’s restroom and told him to remain there for at least five minutes. The suspect is described as a white male approximately 6’0” tall, and between 170 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt during the robbery with a large white towel or shirt collar around his neck, possibly to hide a tattoo on the right side of his neck, which can be partially seen in surveillance video.
