An unidentified man was found dead in a boat off Caspersen Beach Monday morning. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call just before noon. Officials from the sheriff’s office, Venice Police and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission all responded and brought two people to shore from the boat who made the distress call. One of the people, an unidentified man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause of death is under investigation.
