Two Venice parents are facing charges after their 3-year old was found wandering near the US-41 Bypass late Friday night. A passing driver saw the toddler, who was wearing only diapers, and called police. Officers found an open door to a room at a nearby Motel 6 and found three other children ranging in age from 1 to 14, asleep with no adults present.
38-year old Ryan John Wayman and 37-year old Trieste Mason Wayman were later arrested when they returned to the motel. They told police they were at work- an investigation found the couple had actually been drinking at a local bar. They were charged with four counts of child neglect.
