It is becoming very common in the United States for communities to try and do their part to keep the environment as clean as possible. Monday, the City of North Port got in line with other Florida communities, as well as dozens across the country in trying to regulate plastic bag use. One commissioner wanted to ban the bags altogether, but the rest of the commissioners didn’t want to go that far. There are also bills at the state level that will allow towns with less than 100,000 residents to set their own rules regarding the single-use plastic bags.
