The city of North Port is ready to welcome the Atlanta Braves with open arms. At their meeting on Tuesday night, city commissioners wore Braves jerseys with “North Port” emblazoned on the back. After a discussion and public comments regarding a multi-million dollar stadium for the Braves’ spring-training games, commissioners authorized City Manager Jonathan Lewis to continue discussions with the Braves and Sarasota County.
