You’re invited to join Peace River Audubon for a visit to Walton Ranch in Sarasota County next week. This land was purchased in 2010 for conservation purposes and includes marshes, pine flatwoods, hardwood hammocks, and pastureland. Walton Ranch is located on North Toledo Blade Boulevard in North Port. The walk takes place next Tuesday starting at 8 a.m. and will cover two to three miles on sometimes uneven trails. There’s a chance of seing a variety of birds plus deer feeding at the edge of the woods. You should bring water, sunscreen, insect spray, a hat, and wear hiking shoes.
