Charlotte High School had a larger police presence today.

This followed an investigation into possible violence at the school.

WBBH-TV reports an alert after midnight showed posts on several social media websites that something might happen.

An assistant principal last week learned that a student had made statements about people “knowing their name” today and “finally getting respect.”

Officials identified the student, but they determined the statements had to do with extravagant birthday plans.

They also determined that none of this posed a threat to students, but the school had more officers today because of the amount of calls and requests received.
