A fire destroyed several buildings this morning in Sarasota County, but the fire department does not report any injuries.

The Herald-Tribune reports 80 firefighters responded to a two-story building near JR’s Old Packinghouse Cafe.

They managed to save the restaurant, but not before the fire caused some damage.

The destroyed buildings include apartments behind the cafe and a warehouse.

Traffic shut down on several streets because of all this. The closures included Palmer Boulevard between Porter and Cattlemen roads.

How the fire started remains a mystery.
