Southwest Adds Saturday Austin Flights and Daily Kansas City Service from SRQ for Summer 2027

Travelers out of Sarasota-Bradenton now have something to look forward to in summer 2027. Southwest will run Saturday nonstop flights between SRQ and Austin-Bergstrom from June 5 through July 31, 2027, and will take its Kansas City service from weekly to daily during the broader summer schedule, June 3 through August 2. Both additions are part of the airline’s seasonal summer plan.

Kansas City is the bigger upgrade for flexibility. Daily service means business travelers and families are no longer tied to a single departure day each week. The Austin route is built for weekend trips, so travelers should confirm they are booking the nonstop and check both departure and return dates before locking in plans, since that flight only operates on Saturdays.

The expansion arrives as SRQ keeps setting records. The airport served 4,514,781 passengers in 2025, a 6.34 percent increase over 2024 and an annual high. Tickets for both routes are available through Southwest. No introductory fare was announced, so compare total trip costs before booking. Which route would you rather see added next: more Austin days or a brand-new nonstop somewhere else?
