Sarasota BMX hosts the final two rounds of the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Cup on October 31 and November 1, and it’s the only U.S. stop on the entire 10-round international series. More than 400 riders from over 25 countries are expected, along with roughly 1,500 spectators, as season titles get decided in Men Elite, Women Elite, Men Under 23, and Women Under 23.

The stakes go beyond bragging rights. The event falls inside the LA 2028 Olympic qualification period, so riders are banking points toward the Games with every lap. UCI President David Lappartient said competitors will race for the season championship while earning valuable points toward Los Angeles, and USA BMX CEO B.A. Anderson expects hundreds of world-class athletes on the gate.

The venue itself is part of the story. Sarasota BMX is the oldest continuously operating BMX track in the United States, and it was upgraded to UCI World Cup standards in 2016, complete with an 8-meter starting ramp. The county’s investment is paying off: Sarasota will host 2027 World Cup rounds on October 2 and 3 as well. So Suncoast residents get a global racing weekend without the airfare. Will you be at the track on Halloween weekend?
