Pringles is running a Halloween campaign that promises one fan a very unusual legacy: burial in an urn shaped like a Pringles can. The winner also receives 200 years’ worth of Pringles. If that sounds like a lot of chips, it is. Roughly two centuries of snacks, for one person, tied to a burial container shaped like the product itself.
The entry process is simple. Fans visit OnceYouDrop.com and sign a “will and taste-ament” before Oct. 22. One entry will be randomly selected, and the winner will be notified on or around Oct. 31. According to the brand, the campaign leans into Halloween’s dark humor and Gen Z’s taste for absurdist storytelling. It also has a real foundation: the inventor of the Pringles can had his ashes buried in one back in 2008, and this promotion nods to that story.
For Suncoast listeners, it’s the kind of pop-culture story that sparks instant opinions. Is this clever marketing, a bizarre stunt, or both? Would you enter for the chips and ignore the urn part entirely? Tell us what you think in the comments.
