A 28-year-old Wisconsin choir teacher, Paul Sadergaski, has been charged with grooming a child for sexual activity from a position of trust and possession of child pornography. The reported offenses occurred between June 15 and Aug. 22, according to the criminal complaint.
The complaint says a girl identified as victim 1 told police that she, a friend, Sadergaski and his wife began playing pickleball near the end of the school year, and that he first asked for her phone number then. She said the texts started with summer school and musical camp topics before turning personal. She also told investigators there was never any physical contact between them. A police search warrant reportedly uncovered multiple videos containing child sexual assault material, along with images that appeared to have been taken of students, many of whom were current middle school students.
Sadergaski has been placed on administrative leave, and school officials said student safety and well-being remain their top priority. For families here on the Suncoast, stories like this raise hard questions about who has access to our kids and how school districts flag warning signs early.
