A family-owned Ford dealership in Wichita, Kansas, has fired two employees after racial slurs were printed on oil change reminder stickers given to customers. Rusty Eck Ford, which has operated in the community for more than 73 years, opened an investigation after customers reported the language. Four customers were affected, and the dealership says it has contacted each of them directly.
According to the dealership, one Quick Lane employee entered the offensive language into the system that produces the reminder stickers and was terminated the same day. A second employee discovered the language, removed it from the system, but never informed management. That employee was also fired. Customer Larry Martin found the slur on a sticker inside his truck and described the moment as humiliating, saying he hopes it never happens to anyone else.
The dealership called the incident deeply disappointing and embarrassing and issued an apology to the affected customers. For a business with a seven-decade local reputation, the episode raises broader questions about internal oversight and how quickly offensive conduct gets caught before it reaches the public.
