The Suncoast is in for a week of weather that asks a little of everything from us. Tuesday starts with highs in the lower 90s, but the heat index climbs to near 105 before afternoon and evening storms move through, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds. If you have outdoor plans, morning is your window.
Wednesday shifts gears with fewer storms but stronger northeast winds, gusting near 30 mph. Boaters should take notice: northeast winds of 25 to 30 knots arrive Tuesday night, and seas build to 6 feet by Wednesday night. Rough marine conditions linger through Thursday before gradually improving Friday. If you were planning a midweek trip out on the Gulf, Friday looks like the better bet.
Storm chances climb Thursday and stay high Friday through Sunday, mostly during the afternoon and evening hours, with highs around 90 to 91. Meanwhile, a tropical disturbance far to our southeast near Bermuda may develop this week, but it poses no immediate threat to the Suncoast.
