Elysian Fields has been part of Sarasota since 1991, and this month the locally owned shop on South Tamiami Trail celebrates 35 years in business. Owners Tony and Ruta Gillette have kept the store independent through three and a half decades of retail change, a run that earned it Sarasota Legacy Business recognition and, in 2025, Sarasota Magazine’s Best Gift Shop honor.
Step inside at 1273 S. Tamiami Trail and you’ll find books, crystals, jewelry, gifts, home décor, candles, wellness and meditation items, and tarot and oracle decks, much of it handcrafted or hard to find in conventional stores. The shop also hosts intuitive readings, classes, and special events. Curious newcomers are welcome, no particular spiritual path required.
