In a delightful twist, Hooters of Southwest Florida has stepped up to make a powerful impact in the community through their “Hootie’s Lending Library” program. This initiative is dedicated to supporting local cancer patients by delivering much-needed books and activities to treatment centers in Naples and Fort Myers. Who would have thought that your favorite wings spot might also be a beacon of hope on a challenging day?

Throughout April, employees from Hooters locations took time out of their busy schedules to bring a little comfort, distraction, and cheer to patients facing the long hours of treatment. From inspiring novels to coloring books and puzzle materials, these thoughtful deliveries are designed to create a sense of normalcy during a difficult time. Patients and their families are welcomed with open arms and full lending carts stocked with everything they might need to escape the minute-by-minute grind of treatment.

Since its launch in 2022, the program has gifted over 16,000 books, reinforcing the idea that small acts of kindness can truly change lives. While the restaurant chain is known for its nostalgic environment and wings, it’s clear that they’re also committed to spreading compassion within their community. Because sometimes, a book can be just what the doctor ordered to lighten the load—after all, who doesn’t appreciate a great story (or a good laugh) during tough times? This program is proof that kindness can be served alongside your favorite meal.
