CCSO Sweeps the Streets: Dealers Beware, Addicts Offered a Lifeline
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office isn’t slowing down in its fight against illegal drugs. Over the past few months, the Narcotics Unit has been busy pulling meth, cocaine, and fentanyl off the streets—making arrests that range from small possession charges to trafficking-level busts.
Some of these cases have made the news. Many haven’t. But Sheriff Bill Prummell says one thing is certain: “YOUR CCSO is always working hard to keep this junk out of our community.”
Prummell drew a sharp line between users and dealers. For those battling addiction, he reminded the community that help is just a phone call away. “Call (941) 639-2101 and ask a deputy to come and take your use-amount of drugs and help get you treatment—without fear of arrest. Let us help you before your picture is added to one of these lineups.”
But his warning to dealers was blunt: “To the ones pushing this poison on those who are battling addiction, I look forward to seeing your faces included here.”
The message is clear—if you’re selling, CCSO is coming for you. If you’re using and ready to stop, they’ll help you get out before it’s too late.
