Body Believed to Be Missing Teen Found in Manatee County
Investigators believe a body found Saturday in a retention pond near Interstate 75 in Manatee County is that of missing North Carolina teen Giovanni Pelletier.
Pelletier vanished about a week ago after reportedly leaving a vehicle near State Road 70. His disappearance sparked a search after he sent a troubling text to his mother. Pelletier disappeared while visiting family in Englewood.
Positive identification and cause of death are pending an autopsy. The investigation continues.
