NORTH PORT, FL – In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, the North Port Police Department invites families to a special community event this Saturday, April 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boundless Playground in the Garden of the Five Senses.

This family-friendly event is designed to foster positive interactions between law enforcement and children on the autism spectrum, ensuring they feel comfortable approaching officers for help when needed. Families will enjoy free ice cream, t-shirts, and fun giveaways under the department’s tent.

The Boundless Playground offers an inclusive and accessible space for children and adults of all abilities, featuring design elements that accommodate sensory, auditory, and mobility needs.
