Fatal Motorcycle Crash on South McCall Road Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

Englewood, FL – A high-speed motorcycle crash on South McCall Road near Point of Pines Road resulted in one fatality and another person injured on Sunday.

According to authorities, a 28-year-old Englewood man was riding a motorcycle southbound at a high rate of speed in the center turn lane. As he attempted to pass between two vehicles—one stationary and one moving—his motorcycle collided with the front of a sedan that was waiting to turn left.

The impact ejected the motorcyclist from his vehicle, sending him into the windshield of the sedan. Crash debris struck a third vehicle that was also traveling southbound in the left lane.

Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the sedan, a 67-year-old man, sustained injuries and was taken to Englewood Hospital for treatment. The condition of the third vehicle’s driver was not reported.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
