Man Tased, Arrested for Disrupting Charlotte High School Graduation

An altercation disrupted the graduation ceremony of Charlotte High School at the Charlotte County Sports Park in Port Charlotte. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reported that around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to a disturbance in the upper seats of the stadium involving two men, with 36-year-old Ha’akim Amir Johnson.

Officers intervened and escorted Johnson towards the main gate as he claimed his teenage daughter was on her way. Another individual exited the gate, leading to a verbal altercation between him and Johnson, escalating to threats of violence.

Johnson charged at the individual, removing his shirt and taking a fighting stance despite verbal commands from officers. Consequently, he was tased and arrested.

Johnson now faces charges of conspiring to disrupt an educational process and resisting arrest without violence.
