SunCoast Blood Center is your local blood center and still needs you during this challenging time. They have an urgent need for all blood types as well as platelets.

SunCoast staff are taking extra steps to ensure a safe donation experience by implementing various disinfecting protocols.

The platelets we have now are only good for five days. Therefore, we need regular scheduled donations to meet this critical need.

If you are a type A, B or AB blood donor, please consider donating platelets.

Before you come in to donate, please take your temperature. If it is above 99.5 please refrain from donating for 14 days.

Appointments are strongly encouraged in order to more effectively manage social distancing at our donor centers. Appointments are easily made online at suncoastblood.org or by calling 1-866-97-BLOOD.

We encourage you to register the day of your donation using QuickPass to save time and limit person-to-person interaction at our donor centers. You can access QuickPass on our website.

Donating blood is safe and there is no known risk of transmitting COVID-19 through a blood transfusion.
MOST IMPORTANT – If you or anyone in your household are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please refrain from donating for 14 days.
