Manatee County Sheriff’s Office detectives have identified the body of a woman found yesterday along a dirt road in Palmetto. She was 49-year-old Gladys Bernadette Phicien. She lived in the 1400 block of 9th Avenue East in Palmetto. An autopsy has been performed but detectives are not releasing the cause of death. A couple on their morning walk in Palmetto Thursday morning discovered the woman’s body. There were signs of trauma on the body, and detectives believe somebody killed her.
