If you see a large group of police cars hanging out in Punta Gorda next week, don’t worry.

They are students attending a Radar Class that the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is hosting from December 10 through 14. The Sheriff’s Office expects to have officers from many different agencies, including agencies outside of Charlotte County, attending the one week school. While there will be work done in a classroom setting, part of the requirements for radar certification is for the students to actually set up and run radar/laser speed checks as a practical exercise.
